Every detail of the day, starting from the weather, went off perfectly. To mark this special anniversary, we formed the cars in the numerals “50” so that we could take an aerial picture using a drone.

Following our socializing and ogling at everyone else’s cars, we all reconvened inside the Kars Community Recreation Center’s Hall for a delicious lunch comprised of numerous salads, a variety of sandwiches on croissants, and an assortment of beverages. The meal was followed by a few words to mark the day; to call upon the current Board of Directors and to recognize our Past Presidents, nine of whom we were blessed to have in attendance. Then we cut the special anniversary cake which had the picture of Joe Amendola’s 1931 Phaeton on it as Joe was one of the seven original founding members of the club. Finally, the winner of the Raffle draw for the magnificent quilt created by Judy Connelly was selected. Diane Jaakkola was the lucky winner. What a spectacular day it was for one and all!

A special thanks goes out to all the members of the Board of Directors who, led by our Organizer-in-Chief Patti Mordasewicz, worked so hard to coordinate all the details. As well, extra-special thanks go out to the numerous volunteers who worked so diligently outside with the cars and inside, setting up the tables and chairs, arranging the food displays, serving the desserts and cleaning up so beautifully at the end of the afternoon.
