The club was founded in 1975 to serve the interests of people who owned
Model A Fords. Since the typical driving speed of the Model A is 40 MPH, it
was hard to keep up with the larger or newer cars in the local antique clubs
when they went on tour. The club was formed and registered as a chapter of the
Model A Ford Club of America (MAFCA) and the Model A Restorers Club (MARC). We
saluted our 25th Anniversary in 2000.
The primary theme of this club is to encourage and help people to repair and
restore Model A's, and to involve spouses and families in fun events and driving
tours. Some of the members are interested in era fashions, and subsequently can be
seen dressed in the style of the '20s and '30s. Our membership is generally from
the eastern Ontario and southern Quebec regions.
Our members are interested in knowing how the Model A works and how it was put
together. At our regular monthly meetings there are technical seminars to show
how to take it apart and put it back together. During good weather, we can be
seen touring around the countryside -- and having fun, of course. We encourage
our spouses to join us on the tours, since it provides a good opportunity to
socialize, and allows them to share the pleasure of the Model A's wonderful ride
and a slower view of life, as it was.
We are a regional chapter of the Model A Restorers Club and the
Model A Ford Club of America.
